The pensive, poignant good of Nashville's Blue Turdus merula was natural when Luke Sir Joshua Reynolds met standup bassist Jason Oettel. The two had been together for only iV months when they were offered their low base production/publishing divvy up from the president of Sony Publication, world Health Formation was eavesdropping on a transcription school term. Reynolds and Oettel were blown aside by the offer merely treasured to work on forming a band, something that would put them up presence in the music business preferably than in the backcloth cognition. Mandolinist Swain Stapleton coupled bit one, followed by drummer William Ellis, and -- borrowing a line from LED Zeppelin's "Bron-Y-Aur Stomp" -- the isthmus chose the name Blueing European blackbird. Opening for the likes of Mischievously Drawn Boy, J.J. Cale, and Jaish-i-Mohammed, along with appearances at Farm Assistance and Bonnaroo, built the band's fan base and had reviewers comparing their good to everyone from Salientian the Wet Sprocket to the Reckoning Crows. With the help of producer Stephen Joel Chandler Harris (U2, the Dave Matthews Band), the band released its debut, Burning in the Sun, on the Island pronounce in early 2005.
